City
are understood to have ironed out details on a five year contract for
the Germany international, who has been dogged by back and foot injuries
in recent years.
He
came on as a late substitute in last Thursday's Europa League defeat by
Liverpool but started against Hamburg in Sunday's 3-0 win before coming
off after 65 minutes.
Dortmund
are seven points behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and could face
them in the DFB-Pokal Final if both clubs navigate their way through
their respective semi finals.
Guardiola would not be drawn on the Gundogan to City transfer on Monday.
When quizzed he simply replied: 'I am the coach of Bayern Munich.'
The
25-year-old Gundogan has played 16 times for Germany in his career and
has been at Dortmund since 2011, when he was signed from Nurnberg.
