Man United close gap on Arsenal, Liverpool beat Everton in derby

Manchester United closed the gap on Arsenal in fourth spot to a single point with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

Arsenal can extend the gap to four again if they beat West Brom on Thursday, but United are breathing down their necks and took an early lead as Damien Delaney sliced into his own net in the fourth minute after a Matteo Darmian cross.
Marcus Rashford then fed Jesse Lingard before the 30 minute mark but the winger failed to score when he should have done better.
Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni had to be at his best to keep out Rashford, then a fierce shot from Anthony Martial. However, he could do nothing about Darmian's 55th minute hammer which crashed in off the post to double the lead.

Liverpool piled pressure on Everton boss Roberto Martinez after they won the Merseyside derby 4-0 at Anfield.
The Reds struck twice in the final four minutes of the first half as James Milner put the ball on a plate for Divock Origi, and then Mamadou Sakho, to head home.
The Toffees' job was made all the harder as Ramiro Funes Mori was sent off for a tackle on Origi in the 50th minute and the 10-men had no way back into the game after that.
Lucas passed to substitute Daniel Sturridge -- who came on for the injured Origi -- and the England striker slotted home the third before Philippe Coutinho put some more gloss on the scoreline with a nice finish.
West Ham United
West Ham continued their fight for Europe as they hammered Watford 3-1 thanks to a pair of penalties from Mark Noble.
Andy Carroll volleyed home his sixth goal in as many games to open the scoring, but then Noble was calmness personified as he struck home twice from the spot -- one on the stroke of half-time and the second in the 53rd minute.
Sebastian Prodl got one back soon after, but the sixth-placed Hammers kept up their three-point gap over Liverpool and stay three points behind Man United as Adrian saved a late penalty from Troy Deeney.
Nordin Amrabat picked up a second yellow card in the final minutes for a trip on Winston Reid

Juventus close in on title, Totti scores sensational brace in Roma win

Juventus close in on title, Totti scores sensational brace in Roma win

Totti hit back at coach Luciano Spalletti by scoring a sensational brace just 4 minutes into play
AS Roma stalwart Francesco Totti came off the bench with four minutes left and scored twice to give his Champions League-chasing side a dramatic 3-2 win over Torino in Serie A on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old's performance, the latest twist in a career spanning an extraordinary 24 seasons at Roma, overshadowed leaders Juventus who moved closed to their seemingly inevitable fifth successive title with a 3-0 win over 10-man Lazio.
Totti, whose lack of playing time since January has reportedly caused friction with coach Luciano Spalletti, needed just 22 seconds to equalise with his first touch, volleying in at the far post after Miralem Pjanic's cross was touched on. Over the weekend too, Totti's late equaliser had earned Roma a vital 3-3 draw over Atlanta.Totti was back for more three minutes later, stepping up to convert a penalty after Nikola Maksimovi was harshly ruled to have handled to keep Roma firmly in third place, the Champions League playoff spot.
Totti had begun the match on the bench and watched helplessly as Andrea Belotti put Torino in front from a penalty, Konstantinos Manolas headed Roma level and Josef Martinez put the visitors back in front.
Juventus had no such problems as they notched their 23rd win in their last 24 league games to stay nine points clear of Napoli, who had briefly reduced the deficit with a 6-0 demolition of Bologna on Tuesday.
Mario Mandzukic gave Juventus a halftime lead and the game was effectively over after Lazio had Gil Patric sent off for a second bookable offence three minutes after the break.
Paulo Dybala converted a penalty after Leonardo Bonucci went tumbling in the area, a decision which provoked angry Lazio protests, and the Argentine finished off a typically incisive break just after the hour to complete the win.
Juventus have 82 points from 34 games, with Napoli on 73 and Roma on 68.
Roberto Mancini's Inter saw their Champions League hopes all but extinguished in a 1-0 defeat at Genoa where Sebastian De Maio scored the winner with 13 minutes left.
Bottom three Frosinone, Palermo and Verona all moved closer to Serie B after a dramatic evening at the basement end of the table.
Daniel Ciofani gave Frosinone a fifth minute lead at Chievo but they then had Arlind Ajeti and Raman Chibsah sent off as they crashed to a 5-1 defeat.
Palermo also got off to a flying start when Franco Vazquez converted a second-minute penalty at home to Atalanta.
However, Marco Boriello and Gabriel Paletta replied for the visitors and the Sicilians, where Davide Ballardini is in his second stint of the season as coach, needed a late equaliser from Aljaz Struna for a point.
Verona were left seven points adrift at the bottom and almost certain to go down after they were beaten 1-0 at Empoli by a second-half goal from Massimo Maccarone.

Atletico Madrid overcame Athletic Bilbao 1-0 as Fernando Torres continued his recent resurgence with his fifth goal in as many matches.
Barcelona and Real Madrid also recorded victories on Wednesday, leaving Atletico level on points with Barca but second in the table due to their inferior head-to-head record, and one point clear of third-placed Real.
Torres was sent off against the league leaders in the Champions League last month but he has since netted in La Liga games against Espanyol, Granada and now Bilbao, the Spaniard's 38th-minute header proving the difference at the San Mames Stadium.

At the other end of the table, Sporting Gijon climbed out of the relegation zone with a surprise 2-1 win over Sevilla.
Isma Lopez scored an injury-time winner to give the home side a valuable three points, which moves them into 17th, above Granada, who play Levante on Thursday.
It was only Sporting's second victory in 13 league matches and leaves Sevilla seventh, five points off the top six.
Valencia's hopes of securing European football are all-but over but Los Che beat Eibar 4-0 to jump up to eighth, above Malaga, who drew 1-1 at home to Rayo Vallecano

Why Taylor Swift Put Pop-Rock First

Why Taylor Swift Put Pop-Rock First

"Kiss Me" Was the First Song She Learned

We all know very well the story of Taylor Swift’s early love of country music. She discovered Faith Hill, Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks, she started writing songs, she moved to Nashville, and then when she was 16, released “Tim McGraw” and the whole world lost its mind.

But when I think of Swift as a young girl starting to play the guitar, and learning a few chords, I kind of picture her strumming some “Let Me Let Go” or “Wide Open Spaces.”

As it turns out, though, the first song Swift learned to play on the guitar wasn’t a country song at all.
It was “Kiss Me,” the crossover pop hit from the Christian rock band Sixpence None the Richer. The song was off their 1997 self-titled album. Swift talks about it in her cover story video on Vogue.com.

So even though Swift was destined for country stardom early in her recording career, the song that paved the way for her as a guitar player — and maybe even influenced some of her own music later on — was this up-tempo love song.

Avril Lavigne Spotted Together with Ex-Husband Chad Kroeger at Juno Awards, States That They Still Love Each Other

Avril Lavigne Spotted Together with Ex-Husband Chad Kroeger at Juno Awards, States That They Still Love Each Other

Avril Lavigne is a Canadian singer-songwriter and actress who was born on 27th September, 1984. Avril Lavigne in the past had tied the knots with Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger. However, the marriage did not last long as both of them announced that they were separating from each other just after two years of marriage.
In September 2015. Avril Lavigne herself confirmed through social media that they were seeking a divorce. She posted the following on her Instagram account- “It is with heavy hearts that Chad and I announce our separation today.”
Even after their separation the couple continued to be in touch with each other and they were even seen at a recording studio sitting next to each other. There was not a single hint of uneasiness on their faces with each other’s presence. Musicians Stephan Hovsepian and Zane Carney too were present in the studio alongside the once estranged couple.
The couple was spotted together on the Red Carpet at the pre-Grammys party hosted by Clive Davis on Valentine’s Day. Their appearance together on a red carpet came after many years.
At the Juno Awards which was held in Canada recently, they were spotted together again on the Red Carpet. Quite naturally, they were flocked by the media and everyone had one question as to how they are doing at the current moment.
They answered the question by stating that they were quite well and Chad Kroeger even referred to Avril Lavigne as his date. He revealed that it was Lavigne who had asked him to accompany her to the party of Clive Davis in February and this time around, Kroger asked Lavigne to accompany him to the Juno Awards.
He stated- “She asked me a couple months ago if I would come be her date at the Grammy’s at Clive Davis’s party, a really good time, then this came up and I said, ‘You want to come to the Juno’s?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, sure.'”
He also added that he had become tired of walking around with his band members and thus he decided to get a “hottie” instead, referring to Lavigne as he spoke.
Kroeger’s band had managed to get nominated in the Category of Rock Album of the Year at the Juno Awards. Their album- No Fixed Address was the one that won the nomination. However, unfortunately the album remained from winning the Rock Album of the Year award as it went to The Physical World by the band Death From Above 1979.
As for Lavigne, she stated that she was not there to perform, instead she came to support Chad and be with him. It is a known fact that she had in the past suffered from a bad case of Lyme disease which left her bedridden for quite some time.
She stated that she is slowly getting her life back together after the setback. She also added that she and Chad shared a great bond of friendship and they will continue to work together in the future. They both started working together in the studio and it is very important for them to maintain a proper relation with each other in order to keep working together.
She also mentioned about Kroeger’s throat surgery at the same time pointing out- “That’s life, right? Full of ups and downs. We love each other and we always will.”

She did not forget to mention all the support that she has been getting from Chad and her family after she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. She pointed out that all the support is helping her to get back into her normal life.
Lavigne was recently spotted in Bahamas. Apparently, she was visiting Bahamas at that time and she even posted pictures of herself in the beautiful island country on her Instagram account.
